Tradition and History: The 'Casalicchio' Farm Holiday Resort among the Wheat Fields of Central Sicily
Since 1816, Agriturismo Casalicchio
The Casalicchio farmhouse is located in the hills of the Cammarata countryside, in the province of Agrigento, at an altitude of between 450 m and 650 m above sea level. It takes its name from the feudal estate of the same name, which has belonged to the family of the current owners since 1816.
The Historic Heart of Durum Wheat Cultivation
The ancient Baglio and the adjacent farmhouse were originally built as a country residence for managing the fields. The cultivation of durum wheat, in particular, remained the main crop grown in the fields of the district, belonging to the Feudo di Casalicchio, for over two centuries.

Casalicchio: Land of Agricultural Traditions and Hospitality
From historic farms to olive growing and agritouris
Since the second half of the twentieth century, Casalicchio has been home to sheep, cattle, horses and farmyard animals. Francesca Borsellino and Giulio Viola, grandparents of the current tenant, started an agricultural business in the early 1990s, focusing on olive growing, wheat and vegetable production.
A century of passion for the lan
In 1995, Giulio Viola planted 7 hectares of olive groves for a total of almost 3,000 olive trees, mainly Nocellara del Belice. Between 1999 and 2000, Francesca Borsellino herself began work on adapting the buildings to transform the old farmhouse into a farmhouse holiday resort, which can now boast over twenty years of experience in hospitality.
